The Shocking Truth About Soy (Part One)
Soy is good or bad? This is undoubtedly one of the most debated questions of recent times. When you approach the natural world or decide to become vegetarian or vegan, sometimes the first thing to do is replace milk and its derivatives and animal protein with vegetable alternatives, and the first food that begins to appear on the table in so big quantities is soy (this is not always the case, but it happens!). And in fact, natural food stores sell soy in all sauces: soy milk, soy yogurt, soybeans, soy ice cream, yellow soy, and so on. This also happens in targeted diets to reduce excess cholesterol, as soy products are increasingly reclaimed as heart and artery rescue. The fact that soy is so present in natural supermarkets and that it is so well advertised would make us think it is the innocent and miraculous food of the world and that eating it is the key to living in health. But is it right? As in most major nutrition questions, there are also arguments in favor and arguments against soy.
